Welcome from the Deputy Head of Co-Curriculum and Community Here at Amity, we are committed to providing an outstanding all-round
education and life beyond the classroom is an essential aspect of what we offer. We believe that co-curricular activities broaden horizons and
encourage key competencies such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. Ultimately, we seek to challenge our
pupils and provide them with the skills, confidence, and emotional intelligence, which are now considered important if not essential 21st Century
competencies. Therefore, we do not consider these afterschool and lunchtime activities as ‘extras’. On the contrary, we expect and encourage all students to participate to a greater or lesser degree. They are ‘co’-curricular activities, not ‘extra’-curricular. We firmly believe that every child has a great number of talents and passions yet to be discovered. The Amity daily experience is designed to unearth these talents and to develop them to the fullest over time. Using the school’s outstanding campus facilities, involvement in the programmes on offer not only will enable our pupils to be high achievers in their chosen activities, but they are great fun too. Dear Parents, I am pleased to inform you that we will now using SchoolsBuddy to manage our CCA programme here at Amity.
This system will enable you to sign-up your children for activities and provide a clear channel of communication, as well as a personalised weekly diary. For those few externally provided activities which incur an additional cost, the online payment function will simplify this process. Please note, there will be no paid activities with external providers until after half term. There will be a separate sign-up for this at a later date, and you will be notified in due course. Term 1 CCAs: Year Groups

You will receive an email soon, which will ask you to register your account and create an individual password. This will be followed by a confirmation email and instructions on how to download the SchoolsBuddy app. In order to ensure the sign-up process is fair, we will not be operating a first come, first served system. The sign-up will be open between the times listed below and it will be preference based. This means that you can select up to three CCAs per day, and the SchoolsBuddy algorithm will randomly allocate places. If your child is unsuccessful with their first choice, they will hopefully receive their second or third option. •
Monday 13th September: sign-up opens at 18.00. You will not be able to see the available CCAs in SchoolsBuddy until this time.

Friday 17th September: sign-up closes at 18.00.
Saturday 18th September : you will receive an email by 18.00 with the final allocations. This will inform you of the CCAs in which your child was selected, and those where they were unsuccessful.

FOUNDATION STAGE CCAs
Term 1 (19th September to 9th December) Þ Both Nursery and Reception will have access to the Shared Area once a week, as part of a rotation of classes. Each class will visit the shared area
where they will be able to Play to Learn and access an adult-led CCA activity, from 13.15. After a class has visited the Shared Area and accessed the CCA, it will be sanitised ready for the next class. The CCA activities will be provided by our talented Nursery and Reception teachers. Each adult-led CCA will be designed by our teachers to extend, challenge and immerse your child in experiences beyond the classroom. The CCAs will change each week and this will be shared via our Curriculum Corner on Class Dojo.

Term 1 (19th September to 9th December) Þ In Year 1, due to Covid restrictions we will have a slightly different approach to CCAs. We will have a CCA classroom that all the children will get to
visit during the week. As we are still using the bubble methodology we will go in our bubbles, but this will mean there will be no partition. The room will be sanitised between every session. The room will be sectioned into different learning and activity areas so that the children can choose what activity they would like to access.
