It was also at this time that Tanaami had the important encounter with fellow artist Ushio Shinohara, who would become his lifelong friend. From the front line, Tanaami observed the Neo Dadaism Organizers' movement, started up in 1960 by artists Ushio Shinohara, Genhei Akasegawa, and Shūsaku Arakawa.
