In conclusion, the Bilbao effect has changed the way architecture is viewed because of the impact, status and success Gehry was able to achieve with the Guggenheim Museum. The rise of starchitects like Libeskind has ultimately led to varying degrees of successful iterations of iconic architecture that has also played a key role in regeneration in areas and also attracting both negative and positive criticism. Yet as the world becomes more globalised and exposed to new forms of art and architecture, it undoubtedly will occur that more stararchitects would continue to rise and cause constant change in the portrayal of iconic architecture.
