Rabat Mixed Used Towers
Introduction
The design of «Rabat Mixed used towers» is an exploration of vertical urbanism and offers a new solution for high density urban mixed use in Africa. With its dynamic and unique mix of programs combining shops, offices, a museum, hotels and entertainment venues, RMUt creates an urban oasis that is both sensitive and culturally significant for the city of Rabat.
The “Rabat Mixed used towers” project aims to activate the city and improve the quality of life. It aims to infiltrate culture, dynamism and verdant landscape into the daily life of residents, creating a landmark of urban culture and achieving a poetic active lifestyle integrated into its surroundings.
Rooted in the city’s history and paving the way for its future, the project offers spatial quality, formally composed beauty, programmatic opportunity, and natural porosity and permeability from a holistic perspective in high density development. Combining modernity and contextual humility attributable to Rabat, RMUt is fast becoming an emblematic monument of the city and a destination of choice for living, working and visiting.
The project takes its starting point from the Old HMF destroyed, a historical potential which should be highlighted for the benefit of the community.
Visual breakthrough
Rotation and alignment with the «Ibrahim Roudani» axis thus creating an interesting visual breakthrough by positioning the building between the city and the sea.
Main Blocks
Upward extrusions
Extrusion of the three blocks and transformation into attractive elements at various scales, city scale, neighborhood scale and human scale.
Articulation of the built mass and integration between architecture and landscape thus offering new spaces to discover.
Formation of green terraces which develop in height thus creating a new dynamic for the skyline of the coast of Rabat.
In the center, common terraces are developed which link the three main blocks and which provide an interesting and necessary dynamic.
RMUt, a mixed vertical community associated with three-dimensional spatial experience that showcases itself and highlights its neighborhood and city.
