A motion hearing was held Monday to consider accused sex offender Virgil Hansen’s recent involvement with the long-standing MILK Youth Softball tournament in Milltown. Hansen remains free on bond after being charged with seven felony counts in the alleged torture and abuse of a teenage boy. Hansen is a former Unity School Bus Driver, Milltown Village Clerk, and Firefighter who was charged in November with repeated sexual assault of a Hansen THURSDAY, 33, 2222 child, childSEPTEMBER sexual exploitation, VOL. 131 NO. 19 www.moraminn.com $1.00 enticement, trafficking, solicitation, and abuse. Sally Klevgard, Tom Bensen, and Ed Flanum have been at it again, planning the annual Music on the River. Now in its fourth year, Music on the River is thriving. “We tried it…[to] see

if it would go, and on the fi rst year it did go, the second year it was better, and by the third year, we had something,” reports Klevgard. From classic 50’s rock to country to funk and bluegrass, this summer’s lineup has something for everyone. Better yet? It’s all free. Volunteers

and sponsorships from businesses including Amery Hospital and Clinic, True Value, Kristo Orthodontics, and Bremer Bank are what make these summer events possible. As word gets out, Music on the River continues to grow. “We were pushing 1,000 people,” says Bensen, and that
