SENTINEL

Polk County voters will face some tough choices this November when asked to decide between several contested races. Republican Sharon Jorgenson and Democrat Mary Jo Hacker will vie for the County Clerk position, while incumbent Democrat Dan Steffen goes head-to-head with Republican challenger Jeff Kemp in a contentious race for Polk County District Attorney. Also on the ballot running unopposed are Register of Deeds candidate Sally Spanel, and Treasurer candidate Amanda Nissen. Some of these candidates are new to voters, and others are not. To arm our readers with as much information as possible, we got right to the point with these candidates, and asked them tough questions that voters really want to know this November 8. Voters who’d still like to learn more about each candidate will have the opportunity to ask more questions at a candidate forum sponsored by Friends of the Milltown Public Library on October 11th. The forum will be held at the Milltown Public Library from 7 to 9 p.m.
