The current cold and dreary days may not have many thinking about launching a boat onto the water, but the efforts of those working on the project will surely be appreciated in the warm days that will follow the upcoming winter months. Amery High School pupils from two different classes instructed by science teacher Steve Schieffer have been digging in the dirt and getting plants set at the new
North Twin Lake boat landing. Schieffer and his crew volunteered to plant the rain garden for the new area to help save labor costs. Last Friday students from Schieffer’s A.P. Biology class gathered at the landing all bundled up and ready to take on the chilly temperatures. The instructor’s Freshwater Ecology class had previously gotten their turn

Driving into Amery from the North has a different look due to the new boat landing being implemented at North Twin Lake. The area will look especially pleasing to those entering the city thanks to students and others who are putting in the time and energy to help the new area take shape.

This time of year we are especially reminded that it does not seem like there is much parties from opposing political sides seem to agree on. Whether the topic is education, health care or tax reform, views may differ on where the issue lies and what steps to take in handling concerns. Although the two ladies are on opposite sides of the political spectrum, they agree on one thing; that their connection to the city of Amery has left an imprint on them that has played a part in Godlewski their endeavors. Gae Magnifici is a Republican running for State Assembly in the 28th District and Sarah Godlewski is a Democrat running for Wisconsin State Treasurer. Although one candidate associates with the color red and the other blue, when it comes to Amery they have multiple shared feelings. Chair turns around and flips Kroeze’s life upside down

First it was a phone call and next a spinning chair that started a chain of events making one area man’s dreams a reality. Chris Kroeze, a 27 year-old husband, father, and musician was raising a
family and playing gigs when a call came in that changed his everyday life in the small town of Barron Wisconsin where he was born and raised. Kroeze received a call asking him to audition for a spot on NBC’s The Voice. He is unsure exactly what events led up to the call. Someone may SEE KROEZE ON PAGE TWO
