After finishing third at the 2014 state cross country meet a year ago, Amery senior Alicia Mon-

de la Cruz joins Free Press staff Jessica de la Cruz is the new editor of the Amery Free Press. She began work at the paper Oct. 28 and is looking forward to getting to know Amery and the people in Polk County. A native of de la Cruz Spooner, de la Cruz has worked in radio at Rice
Lake and Willmar, Minn. For the past ten years, she has worked in marketing and public relations, writing for trade publications and coordinating social media and website content for clients. She enjoys finding and telling unique stories. She currently lives in Cumberland with her two children: Zach, age 14 and Ally, age 12. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys community theater, attending her children’s
sporting events, photography and the outdoors. Jessica is active in community theater and was one of the founding members of the Theater in the Woods in Shell Lake. She will be playing an active role as the Free Press enters the online world in the coming months. “Amery is a town that I’ve driven through since I was young, but I’m only now really getting to
