CLINICAL TRAINING

Typically, the curriculum for medical schools is regulated by the government or governmental bodies, as health is one of the most important subjects of public governance. The Medical Council of India (MCI) governs the medical curriculum in India. In India, the average medical program lasts five and a half years, including a one-year internship. There is a considerable emphasis on theory in the curriculum, with students learning anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and microbiology. In comparison, the medical curriculum in the United States varies by medical school but normally takes four years to finish. The first two years focus on basic sciences like anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology, while the following two years are dedicated to clinical training, with students cycling through several medical specialties like Paediatrics, and internal medicine. The curriculum of the American University of Antigua is a synthesis of the best curriculum standards, with a particular emphasis on the US standards.
