Medicine is a calling. Osteopathic medicine is a promise to see people as whole beings, to lead with science, and to heal with heart and hands. Every year, thousands of students choose this path, knowing it will be challenging and costly yet driven by a deep commitment to serve.
“I grew up in a small town. My mom worked nightsto help meget here. Somedays I worry more about rent than exams.”
Your support changes everything. Scholarships ease the burden of debt, provide encouragement, and keep students on the path to becoming the physicians our communities desperately need.
“When I received myscholarship, I cried. It felt likesomeonewassaying, ‘You’regoing to make it.’”
When you give, you are doing more than writing a check you are investing in futures, in families, and in thousands of patients these students will care for over their lifetimes.
This year, your gift is matched dollar for dollar, doubling your impact.
Together, we can lift them up, keep them in the profession, and ensure the promise of Osteopathic medicine continues for generations to come.

The American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) will award the scholarships and grants listed below before the end of 2025. Recipients will be shared on our website at aof.org.
The Advocates for the AOA (AAOA), in partnership with the AOF, created the Holiday Hug Grant program to help Osteopathic medical students or residents with year-end expenses.
The AOF Caring for Communities Fund was established in 2015 through a generous donation from Carole Crosby, JD and Larry Wickless, DO to recognize and support the work of Osteopathic physicians making a difference in the lives of people struggling with a variety of healthcare and social issues. Annual grants are provided to nonprofit health centers with a DO directly and actively involved in the operation and evaluation of the program
The AOF Paul S. McCord, DO, Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Dr. McCord who was a graduate and Osteopathic fellow of Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (MWU/CCOM). It is awarded annually to one student from the third-year class at MWU/COM who has demonstrated a commitment to providing medical services in underserved or disadvantaged areas.
Early career Osteopathic researchers often face barriers to conducting independent research projects. Recognizing these challenges the AOF Osteopathic Research Incubator Grants give early career investigators seed money to begin their Osteopathic medical research project, build research experience and expertise, and initiate projects that can lead to more in-depth research.
The AOF Prairie State Scholarship was established through a gift from the Illinois Osteopathic Educational Foundation to provide financial assistance to one Osteopathic medical student each year who graduated from an Illinois high school.
The AOF Thomas A. Quinn, DO, Osteopathic Scholarships are made possible through generous funding from Dr Quinn and his wife Sissy and recognize Osteopathic medical students who are committed to Osteopathic principles and practice and has maintained an above average academic standing.
The AOF International Humanitarian Medical Outreach Grants support Osteopathic medical outreach efforts across the globe This annual grant program was made possible through a bequest from Julian and Esther Rossnick in honor of Joni B. Rossnick, DO. Grants are distributed to DO-led, patient-centered, student educational or direct-care focused research related initiatives with an international medical outreach component.

Our scholarship and awards programs would not be possible without the dozens of volunteer reviewers who give their valuable time and expertise to ensure a robust and unbiased review process. We are grateful.
