We build tools and equipment for the tire industry designed by the tire industry. In 2015, AME became part of the Haltec group of companies, including Great Lakes Parts and BMS Torque Solutions. In 2018, we launched our ACME Division, focused on Agricultural & Construction Maintenance Equipment and the dealers who provide it. Finally, in 2020, we received certification in ISO 9001:2015. SINGLE & THREE-PIECE WHEEL BEAD BREAKERS

A single-piece wheel is the component of the assembly used to hold the tire, form part of the air chamber (with tubeless tires), and provide the means of attachment of the assembly to the vehicle axle. In 1984, OSHA amended the safety standard for servicing multi-piece rim wheels (29 Code of Federal Regulations 1910.177) to include requirements for the safe servicing of single-piece rim wheels used on large trucks, trailers, buses, and off-road machines.

Single and three-piece rims are commonly found on farm tractor, grader, combine, skidder, and other construction and agricultural equipment. There has been a more than 70-percent reduction in multi-piece rim wheel servicing injuries since the original standard was issued in 1980 – based on a review of the record of multi-piece rim wheel accidents investigated by OSHA. Three-piece wheels, also referred to as multi-piece wheel components, shall not be interchanged except as provided in the charts or in the applicable rim manual.

FIVE-PIECE WHEEL BEAD BREAKERS

Five-piece rims are commonly referred to as multi-piece wheels, defined by a vehicle wheel consisting of two or more parts, one of which is a side or locking ring designed to hold the tire on the wheel by interlocking components when the tire is inflated.

Five-piece wheel bead breakers are unique in that they typically push the rim flange off the bead seat band, breaking the bead without touching the tire. These tools are commonly held into place with a hook that fits into a pocket on the wheel, although some tools exist which clamp to the rim flange. AME International offers a complete range of earthmover bead breakers.

CALIBRATION PROGRAM DETAILS:

1. Customer will contact AME for RA and UPS prepaid call tag.

2. Once the wrench is received, the unit will be inspected, calibrated and re-certified in 24 hours or less. If the unit needs repair, lead time and cost will depend on the repair needed.

3. AME will ship calibrated unit back to exact location as received.

ON BUILDING A CRIBBING STACK

The top plate covering the entire stack ensures maximum displacement and utilization of working load limits.

An assortment of jack plates is recommended to connect or fill the gap between the top plate and the load. Often space will not allow an additional layer of cribbing. Use our variety of jack plate sizes as shims to reach the load. 14466, 14465, 14489

Additional layers of cribbing as needed to get close to the lift point.

Bottom jack plate provides maximum footprint and displacement. Essential for non-compacted surfaces. 14468LT, 14503

PYRAMID & GRIP-IT CONFIGURATION

• The versatility of AME cribbing allows blocks to be used with pyramid surfaces. Follow the same setup using three by three with crossing additional layers.

• Pyramid surface secures blocks together to prevent shifting.

• Top and bottom plates are used in the same fashion, but should incorporate Grip-It surfaces for maximum stability.
