Our Mission Founded in 1910, the Stephen & Christine Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (AMC) is a non-profit academic veterinary hospital dedicated to providing compassionate and collaborative care to animals, and to leading the advancement of veterinary medicine through clinical research and education. Schwarzman AMC relies on philanthropic support to sustain our mission. • Schwarzman AMC is the largest postgraduate veterinary teaching institution in the world. Over 2,500 residents and interns have trained at Schwarzman AMC, with many going on to become board-certified specialists, clinical researchers and educators, thus ensuring a legacy of veterinary excellence that extends far beyond our hospital’s walls. • Schwarzman AMC veterinarians conduct multiple clinical trials annually and engage in research studies published in the most respected journals. Our research initiatives include collaborations with prominent human medical centers such as Weill Cornell Medicine, The Rockefeller University, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and NYU Langone Health. • Schwarzman AMC’s Usdan Institute for Animal Health Education delivers up-to-date information about pet health, not only to those who use our clinical services, but to pet owners throughout the country and around the world. • Schwarzman AMC’s charitable programs assist pets whose owners are unable to afford basic or life-saving specialty care, as well as rescue animals, guide dogs, and retired police and military dogs, with nearly $5 million of care each year. We urge you to support our mission by becoming a member of one of Schwarzman AMC’s donor societies.
