He was someone who found comfort and peace in solitude, often preferring the calm of his own company over the noise of the world. Rather than seeking the spotlight, he appreciated life’s simpler moments— whether that meant time spent outdoors, enjoying his baby blue Corvette.
Though he kept a small circle, those who knew him understood his steady presence, his independence, and his unique perspective on life. He valued authenticity, and his quiet strength left a lasting impression on those around him.
He is survived by his sister Gloria and husband Santiago Gonzales, Sandie Stone and husband, Nieces Elizabeth Chacon and husband, Diana Perales and husband, and nephew Santiago Gonzales Jr and wife, all of Abilene. Also by five great nieces and one great nephew, who will remember him for his individuality and the quiet way he moved through life.

Samantha Hunter passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a family who cherished her deeply.
She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony Hunter; her beloved daughters, Aleigha Wilson, Jolee Wilson, and Sierra Graham; step-children Ashton and Aspen Hunter, her loving mother, Janet Proffitt, and dad, Dan Proffitt; her siblings, Korey Proffitt, Chad Proffitt, and Danee; her grandmothers, Dora Proffitt and Alva Hudson; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Mitch Wilson; her aunt, Janie Roche; her uncle, James Tavera; and her grandfather, Calvin Hudson.
Samantha will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her strength, and the lasting impact she made on everyone who knew her. If you knew Sam, you knew her unforgettable laugh and beautiful smile. Her memory will live on through her children, family, and all those whose lives she touched.
