A MESSAGE FROM LEADERSHIP

BARRY HENNINGS President

With 2019 now in the review mirror, I am glad to report that 2020 is off to a great start for Omega Construction.

Each year in February, at our Annual Meeting, our staff comes together to discuss company-wide updates such as employee benefit changes, safety, best practices in the field and economic forecasts. We also take a moment to review the previous year, celebrate its victories and share the lessons we learned along the way. I always enjoy the opportunity to see all of our staff at the Annual Meeting and appreciate the camaraderie shared as days like this are what makes Omega a better company. A big thank you to Omega staff (Patrick, Matthew, Matt, Sara, Kayla, Elly) and presenters for their dedication to ensure it was a successful day.

As we begin a new decade, we enter with a mood of cautious optimism and excitement. Coming off our best year ever in 2019, we are optimistic to think of the opportunity of potential growth as we have secured our strongest backlog entering a new year in company history. For most everyone in the construction industry, business remains good and we continue to see many prospective jobs coming through our pipeline. In addition, the economy remains positive and the stock market continues to climb to new highs. While it would be easy to be overly optimistic at this time, we remain cautious as 2020 is the ninth year of this current business cycle

that started in 2011. For those of us who have been in the industry for over 10 years, the Great Recession is never far from our minds and as we all know, construction is cyclical and follows the typical business cycle:

As with any forecast, the question remains, “where are we in the current cycle?”. To be honest, we don’t know exactly where we are (no one knows for sure), but we do know that we are closer to the peak of the expansion cycle than we have been. At Omega, we remain committed to not feeling complacent when business is good, but are dedicated to making good business decisions regardless of where we are in the business cycle. We trust you all will approach your project decisions in a similar manner.

Regardless of economic forecasts and the business cycle, I feel inspired by the opportunities and growth 2020 looks to present. I am continually reminded of the wonderful group of employees, customers, family and friends Omega is blessed with. I encourage all of our employees to be thankful for the people and opportunities you encounter this coming year. Together, we can make 2020 another 'Best Year Ever' for Omega Construction.

As we continue to build trust in the industry we also continue to build our team at Omega Construction. We are proud to announce thirteen new employees who have joined our team during the fourth quarter of 2019.

Additionally, we continue to look to recruit from local colleges and universities as we build the next class of Omega interns and new hires. additional employee benefits for 2020 During this year's Annual Meeting, held on February 7th, we revealed the added benefits offered for employees in 2020. Additional life insurance, an education assistance program, the introduction of a benevolence fund, gym membership reimbursements and a change in our dental insurance provider are just a few of the ways Omega looks to invest back in our employees this year.

ALWAYS PUTTING SAFETY FIRST

Each day we send our employees and trade contractors to job-sites across the Southeast.

At Omega Construction, we devote ourselves to creating a culture of safety. In each edition of the Omega Report, we will share safety-related tips for our employees, clients and subcontractors.

According to OSHA, falls are the leading cause of death in construction. See the following common types of fall hazards on a job site and what you can do to prevent them.

FOUR MOST COMMON TYPES OF FALL HAZARDS:

UNPROTECTED SIDES, WALL OPENINGS AND FLOOR HOLES

IMPROPER SCAFFOLDING CONSTRUCTION

Use at least one of the following whenever employees are exposed to a fall of six feet or more above a lower level: Guardrail Systems

Install guardrail systems along all open sides and ends of platforms.

Safety Net Systems Personal Fall Arrest Systems

Construct all scaffolds according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Use at least one of the following for scaffolds more than 10 feet above a lower level: Guardrail Systems Personal Fall Arrest Systems

Cover or guard floor holes as soon as they are created.

Provide safe access to scaffold platforms.

Survey the site before working and continually audit as work continues.

Do not climb cross-bracing as a means of access.

Cover any openings immediately if needed.

Construct all floor hole covers so they will effectively support 2x the weight of employees, equipment and materials.

In general, it is better to use fall prevention systems, like guardrails, than fall protection systems.

Position portable ladders so that side rails extend at least 3 feet above the landing.

Make sure the weight of the ladder will not cause it to slip off its support.

Inspect ladders for broken parts and cracks before each use.

Do not apply more weight on the ladder than it is designed to support.

Use only ladders that comply with OSHA design standards.

LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE Located in Hardeeville, South Carolina the Amenity Center at Latitude Margaritaville provides world-class amenities to its residents.

Designed to be residents' "everyday escape", Latitude Margaritaville's Amenity Center features 50,000 square feet of group fitness facilities, a zero-entry pool and 'Bar and Chill' restaurant. Taking less than one year to build, Omega' s team worked diligently to bring this retirement community's amenity center to life.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

FOOD LION #2228 Anchored by a strong commitment to affordability and freshness, Omega brings the third Food Lion grocery to China Grove, North Carolina.

Food Lion store #2228 was one of three Food Lion projects completed by Omega Construction in 2019. This stand-alone building features 35,000 square feet of new construction along Interstate 29 just north of Charlotte. With amenities including customer self-checkout, hot food bar, deli and a produce walk-in cooler, this Food Lion location will be the third store within the city limits of China Grove.

While currently not opened to the public, the store will become available for shoppers when DOT improvements to Interstate 29 are complete.

todd mayo receives 2019 paul covington award Each year, as an honor of Paul Covington, the founder of Omega Construction, Omega recognizes one employee who best exemplifies the company motto of, "we build trust". As Division Manager of Omega's growing Savannah office, Todd Mayo was awarded the 2019 Paul Covington Award. Todd's leadership has proven his dedication to the Savannah market as well as Omega Construction.

ERIC MARSHALL SHARES STAGE WITH COUNTRY GREATS IN NASHVILLE

As a member of the band Carson Peters and Iron Mountain, Omega's Eric Marshall performed at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on November 30th. Playing two shows to sold out crowds, Eric and his band mates (which includes his son Ben) were able to meet and share the stage with many country music greats including Vince Gill, Tommy Emmanuel, Louise Mandrell, Steve Earl and Jeannie Seely. "It was truly a night we'll never forget!", says Eric.
