Sung in Italian with English supertitles

Verdi’s towering opera tells a tragic tale. Rigoletto, a jester employed by a rich and dissolute Duke, is forced to keep his master well supplied with fresh conquests. As a web of court intrigue tightens around him, Rigoletto finds himself the victim of a grave curse, but it is his carefully protected daughter Gilda who is the one to suffer. From the aching naivety of Gilda’s first love to the Duke’s unthinking revelry and Rigoletto’s tortured realisation of his failure as a father, Verdi takes the characters from elation to despair in an opera densely packed with extraordinary music. Director Matthew Richardson brings this operatic classic to the stage in a stylish, intelligent and theatrical production. English baritone Eddie Wade sings Rigoletto in his debut in the role, and Nadine Livingston (Musetta in 2010’s La bohème) brings a fresh innocence to the role of Gilda. Tobias Ringborg conducts. £10 TICKETS FOR UNDER 26s

Come and join Shaun and his friends in their very own live show with Bitzer, Shirley, Timmy and the rest of the flock in this magical, fully choreographed music and dance extravaganza. Shaun is stage struck and has decided to put on a very special show for all his friends, so get ready for some fabulous madcap mayhem as they dance and prance their way through a series of wonderful adventures under the nose of the short-sighted Farmer. This EMMY and BAFTA award-winning BBC family favourite has been specially adapted for the stage by the National Children’s Dramatist David Wood (The BFG, The Witches).

Following huge success, the Agatha Christie Theatre Company, now in its sixth outstanding year, is proud to present Verdict, the most riveting and compelling drama by the undisputed Queen of Crime. The brilliant Professor Hendryk leads a content and morally upstanding life, but his world is turned upside-down when the prospect of life-saving treatment for his invalid wife persuades him to take on a new pupil against his better judgement; the spoilt, conniving minx Helen who will stop at nothing to get her way. With murderous intentions afoot, it only remains to be seen what verdict will be delivered and if justice will prevail.

THE HARD MAN Originally produced by Newcastle’s acclaimed Live Theatre, and following sell-out seasons at the National Theatre and on Broadway, Bill Kenwright presents the award-winning play The Pitmen Painters, which embarks on a national tour this spring prior to opening in the West End. Written by Lee Hall, creator of the worldwide sensation Billy Elliot and directed by Max Roberts, The Pitmen Painters, has received huge critical acclaim and won the Evening Standard award for Best New Play. In 1934, a group of Ashington miners hired a professor to teach an art appreciation evening class. Rapidly abandoning theory in favour of practice, the pitmen began to paint. Within a few years the most avant-garde artists became their friends and their work was acquired by prestigious collections; but every day they worked, as before, down the mine. Examining the lives of a group of ordinary men that do extraordinary things, The Pitmen Painters is a humorous, deeply moving and timely look at art, class and politics. 14

This international hit landmark production which reinvented the classic musical swept the 2008 Tony Awards, played to sold-out houses on Broadway for 2 years, and is currently selling out across America. Considered one of the finest musicals ever written, the score includes Some Enchanted Evening, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair and There is Nothin’ Like a Dame. Set on a tropical island during World War II, this is the sweeping romantic story of two couples, threatened by the realities of war and by their own prejudices. Its portrayal of Americans stationed in an alien culture in wartime is as relevant today as when it first thrilled audiences. With a cast of 40 and a live orchestra of 25, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to witness one of the greatest musicals of all time, as the critics agree, ‘THIS IS A SHOW YOU WILL REMEMBER FOREVER.’ 20
