The curtain goes up on our first season with Northern Ballet Theatre’s award-winning and breathtaking Swan Lake, followed by West End hit musical Evita, and colourful family fun with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. There’s also the smash hit, heart-warming comedy Calendar Girls, the wonderful Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, an unparalleled choice of one night specials and the world’s favourite family pantomime, Cinderella.

With the wonderful support of Aylesbury Vale District Council, the theatre is being managed by the Ambassador Theatre Group, who operate a total of 39 venues, including 12 historic theatres in London’s West End. It is also one of the country’s foremost theatre producers and has been behind some of the most successful and innovative productions in Britain and abroad.

Northern Ballet Theatre present their haunting and romantic adaptation of Swan Lake, danced to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score.

This award-winning production has taken the country by storm and is a fitting première for this remarkable theatre.

In New England in the early twentieth century, a wealthy college boy lives with his parents on a luxurious lakeside estate. In his last summer of innocence the young man finds himself struggling to cope as his relationships with his closest friends, Odilia and Simon, begin to change.

One night, as he lingers by the lake, he is drawn into the world of a beautiful swan-like creature who becomes an obsession. Events reach a climax at his birthday party when, confused by the advances of Simon, he becomes bewitched by a suddenly transformed Odilia, setting the inescapable tragedy of this Swan Lake in motion.

Sets and costumes capture the elegance of the period and conjure the atmosphere of a long hot summer. With Tchaikovsky’s breathtaking music played live by the Northern Ballet Theatre Orchestra, this beautiful Swan Lake brings audiences a moving story of betrayal and all-encompassing love.

LEE MEAD An exclusive appearance of Lee Mead direct from the West End musical Wicked, is special in many ways.

Outright winner of BBC1’s Any Dream Will Do, Lee has already racked up many credits to his name with appearances in Tommy, Phantom of the Opera and of course Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

His 2009 album Nothing Else Matters went double gold within weeks of going on sale. This appearance at the Waterside Theatre is one of only a handful of dates Lee has chosen to do this year.

The theatre has step free ground floor level from the entrance though to the Box Office, the Waterside Café and the Stalls with two lifts to the Circle 1 and Circle 2 levels. There are 12 wheelchair positions with companion seats, six in the Stalls, four in Circle 1 and two in Circle 2.
