Temptation Free April James Page 5

By Seth Halpern, Editor We Christians often hear of The Fall as it relates to our fallen and sinful nature going back to our first father Adam. It certainly is a dark subject in that it reminds us of our rebellion against God and resulting gap in our relationship with Him until our restoration and forgiveness as we accept His sacrificial death as our means of salvation. Putting biblical theology aside for a moment, there is another side to “The Fall” and it is a wonderful thing. It means the coming of cooler weather, needed rain and for the Yuba-Sutter community a ton of Christian activity! Yes, it seems that almost every day in September and October is filled with Christ honoring events. There are many to choose from, and many to support. There are fundraisers, banquets, desserts, outreaches and more. You will find many of them listed in our calendar on p. 7 or you can check out the Ambassador Online Calendar (www.ambasadornewspaper.

com/ambassadorcalendar) You will also find that this current issue is Chock full of Ads with info on each one. The main thing is this: It is important to support and participate with in these events and with their corresponding ministries. We are blessed to have an active Christian community where God is moving and producing much fruit. However, it is like the old 80/20 rule in which 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people. These wonderful ministries need your support and participation. You may not be able to attend every event (I love to see a more “balanced” calendar), but you can and should schedule to be a part of what’s going on in our Christian community. So, look inside, pray for guidance, and decide to be part of the 20%. Who knows maybe we will change it to the 50/50 rule and we will all share the load and the blessings of God! One way to participate in our community, is to spread the word and find a kidney for Cindy Pitter. (See article on this page)

AND CINDY MAKES THREE

Cindy Pitter attends Hope Point Nazarene church in Yuba City and is actively involved in our community with her yellow labs Honey and Ziggy. But the most notable thing about Cindy is her upbeat attitude and caring for others. You see, Cindy is on dialysis three times a week and prays that God will send someone to step forward and donate a kidney (blood type O+) to save her life.

Cindy often takes Honey to visit many people in a local care facility to help cheer them up. Of course they really enjoy visitors and petting Honey. Ziggy enjoys his training to be a future service dog and is very sensitive to everyone’s needs. Cindy trains dogs like Ziggy to be companions and helpers for those in need. Now you may have to adjust your glasses because there are really only two dogs in this picture. About the Lab T-shirt Cindy is wearing, it would really be something to “howl” about when God provides a kidney donor. For questions, please contact Cindy at creekside41@yahoo.com
