The Beatles At The Symphony!

Picture yourself in a concert hall with a live orchestra and the sounds, iconic beats and poetic lyrics of The Beatles. Suddenly someone is there at the turnstile to take your ticket and usher you into a unique multimedia experience taking you on a kaleidoscope journey through movies, music videos, and original animations inspired by the four lads from Liverpool.

What Is A Live-to-Picture Concert?

For over a decade, concert halls around the world have dazzled audiences with a unique film-going experience. It’s an opportunity to experience a movie, on a giant screen, with hundreds to thousands of fellow attendees, while experiencing the score performed live by a symphony orchestra. These concerts can be a presentation of a film in its entirety or a themed concert that contains over a dozen clips from different films. What makes this concert special is the fact that so many people can come together, and for 2 hours become enthralled in the performance of a world class orchestra accompanying their favorite film.

MUSIC

The Beatles Catalogue Presented as Symphonic Records Imagine sitting at The Royal Albert Hall, watching the Our World broadcast of “All You Need Is Love,” while hearing the original record, but with the famous string and brass parts performed live by the London Symphony Orchestra.

Or watching the “Eleanor Rigby” scene from Yellow Submarine while a full symphony string section (typically 40–50 players) performs the famous string octet accompaniment. The power of 40 players vs. 8! Also from Yellow Submarine is “Only A Northern Song” with its use of dissonance and aleatoric orchestral techniques.

Or including non-orchestral songs like “Day Tripper” to give the broad spectrum of The Beatles musical language, and creating a new arrangement using strings and brass to accompany the song, while showing one of the famous music videos made in 1965.

Why The Beatles?

The Beatles created a once-in-a-millennium collection of music, ideas, and social changes that impacted a generation looking for peace and love. For the last 60+ years, their music has brought joy and happiness to millions and millions of people from all walks of life. Not only that, their music changed Rock ‘n Roll and popular music forever. But it wasn’t just that —they also synthesized Rock ’n Roll with the symphony orchestra with the inclusion of strings, woodwinds and brass in their songs. Given the symphonic nature of The Beatles music, using the Live-to-Picture concert structure, Hollywood Orchestrator, Arranger and Conductor, Vincent Oppido, has developed a unique concert-going experience that would focus on audiences’ shared love for their music.

Production

Requirements to create this concert package for licensed performances

This show would have three major media components to illustrate the connection to the Live-to-Picture Concert.

(Dialogue, Music, and Film.)

Songs (Dialogue): Creating a special mix of the song which mutes all symphonic elements (trumpet, flutes, orchestra, etc.). This audio mix would need to be set to A440 to match the orchestra's tuning.

Arrangements (Music): Arranger Vincent Oppido would transcribe the original George Martin arrangement and expand the orchestration to fill out the orchestra when tasteful and necessary. Oppido, with approvals by The Beatles, would create new arrangements for songs that were recorded without orchestral elements.

Visual Media (Film): The visual component of this show would consist of a combination of music videos, scenes from The Beatles’ movies, montages, and original animations.

Financials A high profile IP, such as The Beatles, can command a license fee of $20,000– $30,000 per show. The sliding scale reflects the performing orchestra’s annual budget, performance hall seat capacity, and sponsorship availability. License fees are typically split as follows: • 50% to The Producer's Team • 35% to The Beatles • 15% to The Team (Booking Agency) In addition to the license fee, The Beatles can negotiate a percentage of ticket sales (typically 10%), and collect all writers and publishing royalties from their PRO. Successful shows have booked 25+ performances a calendar year. Performance venues could include arenas such as Madison Square Garden or Crytpto.com and concert halls such as The Royal Albert Hall, Lincoln Center and Disney Hall.

Responsibilities of the Producer The Producer would be responsible for creating the show and paying the costs associated with this including: • Film Editor • Animator • Music Editor

for housing the orchestra books

• Shipping

to the various licensed shows

To achieve the full vision of the show, The Producer would ask for the full rights to create the show and would have no financial or decision-making benefit to the Producer outside of The Beatles At The Symphony! show. The Producer would work in consort with The Beatles in the curation of new arrangements and the show’s Set List.

The Producer would be responsible for ongoing bookkeeping, accounting, and production costs.

Vincent Oppido, Producer and Arranger Orchestrator, Arranger and Conductor Vincent Oppido has become a mainstay in Film, Television, and Video Games having worked for every major studio. He has brought dazzling orchestrations and arrangements to projects such as Pixar’s Elio, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2, Warner Brothers’ The Suicide Squad, Netflix’s Cobra Kai, and Video Games properties including: Magic The Gathering, Fortnite, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars: Squadrons, Star Wars: Hunters. His arrangements have also been heard on Television during such programs as The Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Show and The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. As a score editor, Vincent worked on the music teams responsible for producing Home Alone in Concert, Back to the Future in Concert, and E.T. in Concert. Recently, Vincent arranged and orchestrated Jon Batiste’s American Symphony which will be released in 2026. He is currently at work on So Good: The Neil Diamond Experience Starring Robert Neary, a symphony orchestra pops experience which will premier performing in 2027.

JoAnne Kane Music Service For over 3 decades, JoAnn Kane Music Service, by Orchestrator, Arranger and Graham Conductor, Mark Graham, has been the gold standard in music preparation in Hollywood. They have worked on thousands of films, television episodes, video games, and Live Film Concerts. Their clients include Hollywood Legend John Williams, John Powell, James Newton Howard and they have created the sheet music and house the library for dozens of Live Film Concerts including the Star Wars Films, Jurrasic Park, and Back to the Future in Concert.

How grateful we all are that Paul and Ringo still tour! But it would be wonderful to have a show where crowds of people can hear the real thing, but with a live orchestra and multimedia!
