Welcome to Democracy Prep!

We are a national network of high-performing public charter schools that serves over 5,500 scholars. Our mission is to educate scholars for success in the college of their choice and a life of active citizenship.

Democracy Prep seeks to transform not only the lives of our students, but the expectations for public schools across the nation and beyond.

With an academically rigorous curriculum, a structured and supportive school community, and an environment that combines high expectations for scholars with high supports from teachers, Democracy Prep scholars are changing the world!

In 2006, we opened our doors to families at our first school in the heart of Harlem. Now, we have the distinct honor of serving more scholars and families in the Bronx with a brand new state of the art building!

Why Here?

This brand new building will be an exciting new addition to the already vibrant Democracy Prep New York community. Currently Democracy Prep operates 4 schools in the Bronx and 10 schools in Harlem.

This school location will ultimately educate nearly

1,000 scholars.

It is in a safe location and brand new security features will ensure that students have a safe learning experience.

Our new location is conveniently located next to multiple forms of public transit so that our scholars and families can easily access the school.
