The proposed bus terminus design uses open plan concourses and waiting halls and employs flexible tensile fabric partitions to be used in various frameworks to provide adaptive usability of the terminus with regard to various stakeholders as well as various conditions and persisting issues.
The flexible partition walls can be used to create temporary shelters for migrant workers in case of a major migration crisis. This also keeps them in close proximity of transportation services.
Retractable fan shaped partitions to be used between seating to promote physical distancing.
Transluscent screens used between shopkeeper and customer ensures sanitary conditions and contactless transactions.
Converting the concourse into an isolation ward with the help of flexible tensile fabric partitions in case of medical emergencies. This would help in cases of other similar medical crisis or outbreaks to lessen the load on hospitals.
Flexible partitions used to create waiting pods of various typologies. Flexible partitions reoriented to form private waiting pods in the waiting room of normally functioning concourse to ensure privacy and physical distancing.
Partitions used in ticketing booths and lines to ensure physical distancing, contactless transactions as well as easy sanitization.
Use of the same fixture to make pop up shops and kiosks to create a area for shopping within the concourse also including the displaced local shopkeepers from local markets as stakeholders.
