2. Warm-Up Activity

Before beginning any physical activity, coaches need to make sure that players have stretched 1x Ball 4x Cones

SET-UP 1. Create a 10m x 10m area using four cones.

2. Players will divide themselves evenly between the four cones.

3. The ball will start with the first player in one of the lines.

4. There should be 3-4 players in each line.

Activity 1. The player with the ball will pass to the first player standing at the cone to his left.

2. After making the pass, s/he will run toward the player as a shadow defender (not trying to steal the ball).

3. The player receiving the pass will collect the ball to avoid the oncoming defender by taking his first touch in the direction of the player at the cone to his left.

4. The player will pass to the first player standing at the cone to his left and run toward him as a shadow defender.

5. Continue the cycle.

6. The coach should change the direction of the passes to the right once the players are comfortable with passing to their left.

1. Create a 15m x 12m area with 2m channels off of each end line.

2. Players should form groups of two.

3. Place one group of two in each of the channels and one group of two in the main area.

4. The ball will start with one of the channel groups.

1. The players in the channels are working together to complete passes.

GOAL MOMENT The Coach could blindfold players in order to illustrate the importance of ‘vision’ in achieving objectives and how the lack of ‘vision’ causes confusion and fear.

2. The players in the main area are working together as defenders.

3. The defenders cannot steal the ball directly from channel players.

4. The channel players can earn a point for splitting the defenders with a pass.

5. The defenders earn a point every time they intercept a pass between channels.

6. Each group defends for 30-45 seconds.

7. Rotate channel players often.
