READ ABOUT THE EXPERIENCES OF 12 PEOPLE, ALL OVER THE WORLD, WHO HAVE HAD MOBILITY RELATED DISABILITIES
DLR Group Interior Designer, Amanda Collen, was awarded a Personal Development Grant through her work to pursue an interactive, in person exhibit related to accessible design. The exhibit allowed the general public to become more familiar with the ADA regulations and codes, become more aware of the obstacles found in the built environment, and learn about 12 different people who have disabilities and what they face on a day-to-day basis. This project aims to bring awareness to the disabled community and call attention to those who design the built environment. Why do we have codes? Are the codes good enough? What other things should be considered in order to enhance the human experience for ALL people. This document showcases the bios Amanda wrote after conducting interviews. Enjoy reading!
