EXPO 2030 ”Medical City“ Sharm Al Sheikh WDS 2021 The medical zone is derived from harmony with nature due to the presence of flood path by forming harmony with it and creating a natural scenery for the patients instead of being afraid of building around it. it is a complementery project that is of an important need, medical cities tend to develop around a major hospital and as a result, their care delivery model and the path of development tend to orient to highly acute transactional care.

The flood path is usually a major proplem that faces different cities and the zones had to reflect the design so the strategies that were taken when solving the buildings considered the environment and the human needs.

In order to contain the environmental problem the flow is directed into a maze in order to slow down the flood speed.

EXPO 2030 ”Medical City“ Sharm Al Sheikh WDS 2021 Placing wellness at the center of the community. incorporating culture as it is a part of who we are, is the main drive for the concept of this mental rehabilitation center.

Colors, materials, patterns, forms, spaces configuration and different façade expressions were different tools for enhancing the design.

Mental rehabilitation form generation: Mass along the perimeter for max. exposure to natural light and ventilation

Starting the form with the required area and volume.

Creating an inner court to act as a Private space to have the needed outdoor activities for a healthy environment. cladding

-1 Inner buildings structural system: Skeleton system (Beam and column) Flat slap Structure.

Using double glazing panels in design hotels façade (Environmental aspect ) Advantages of DoubleGlazed panels: Better Insulation.

FESTIVAL CITY 2030 ”Hotels and restaurants zone“ Sharm Al Sheikh WDS 2021 the spot skylights are arranged linearly to organize the internal space and facilitate orientation. here in a similar way, the light coming from the top, organizes the internal space. the color and finishing texture of restaurant is in harmony with the surrounding ground. the main material is pigmented concrete, but resembles a natural material such as clay and straw.

The entrance is an important part of the building. it is a place of transition, it should be vast and shaded. in this building, the entrance is obtained by the roof surface downward flexion. We made sparing use of the openings, ‘I design shadows, rather than light’.

The main challenge was to create an environment that is resistant to the current pandemic and all the pandemics to come ..

Historical area frequented by many people -existing citizens and tourists, both local and international- , because of its powerful identity and the presence of historical places, the lake of Ain Al-Sira, Fustat Museum , ...

Therefore, it is the most risky area exposed to epidemics from all over the world from which could spread to other places.

Raising the quality of life by creating better places for living Maximizing the heritage value of this historic place, rich site Creating sustainable communities.

Investing it in an optimal way for the direct benefit to the people of the fustat region, as well as to the residents of cairo as a whole

Towards an adaptive future

Modular design Our plan design is based on a modular grid with fixed structural supports and prefabricated walls that are installed based on need offering various space solutions (even a ward in case of large number of patients).

Form Generation The idea is to create a modular design that can adapt to various needs and is flexible to change, to increase floor area if needed. This is done by creating a grid (beams and columns) that extends upwards and horizontally if needed.

Circulation Circulation is divided in 4 parts to separate different cores (Patients, Doctors, Services, Visitors). During The pandemic, it is crucial to convert the hospital into two separate sections.

Isolation rooms requires an anteroom. It serves as a controlled area for the transfer of supplies, equipment, and persons. Also acts a barrier against the potential loss of pressurization.

Providing adequate spacing in waiting areas, corridors, hallways, and entrance lobby. a minimum of 2600 mm width for corridors. This is to allow for 1000 mm for social distancing and 300 mm for human movement

EXHIBTION ”LIFE IS MOVEMENT“ GIZA, ALONG THE NILE 2018 Uaing repeatative units with different peaks giving the influence of movement, making it a full circle (half above the ground and half below the ground) changing the heights and the diameters of the rings inserting glass strips flixable and heat resistant adding contour and levels to show some parts from the under ground merging with the landscape the strips rotates 360 degrees with different peaks giving the visitor the sensation of movement and life ( slight change of physical location or position)

user experience: the overall experience of the visitors will be mainly concerned with the best way to provide them with the basic knowledge about the nile and its progress along the history in a physical way where they can sense the movement.
