FOUNDER Amal Anoohi is an Emirati architect based in Dubai, UAE . Amal holds a NAAB accredited Bachelor of Architecture degree from The Universit y of Arizona (2019) and has been awarded numerous prestigious awards throughout her undergraduate and professional career. With a strong architectural background and training, Amal grew to learn that architecture can be expressed at all scales, and that design is an iterative process encompassing both drawing and building simultaneously. While her past experiences varies from project s of different t ypes and scales, furniture has always been at the forefront of her ongoing career. Amal is the solo lead architect and designer of Studio Amal Anoohi. Her first furniture protot ype was an independent design build project that was developed throughout her undergraduate studies. This initial experience has provoked a series of iterations and explorations that are now manifested within her studio’s first furniture collection.
PRINCIPLE Studio Amal Anoohi is an Emirati design studio that is focused on creating and fabricating products for the local, regional and global scene. The studio aims at creating timeless pieces that pay close attention to craft , materialit y, and tactilit y. Each line of work is carefully composed with the highest attention to detail. The studio’s current line of work focuses on the fabrication of furniture products that are curated for ever yday modern living. With the intention of creating furniture that uphold the continuum of time, materialit y becomes the central motif for each product designed at Studio Amal Anoohi. The contrast between the heavy cold metal frame and the soft pliable rope provides a unique tactile experience. Without compromising on craft or comfor t , the studio intends to bring out the best in each raw material to achieve a visual lightness. Our studio philosophy is deeply rooted in the process of design thinking and making where creativit y is born out of the process of discover y.
HOPPER COLLECTION Hopper Collection is the studio’s first furniture product line. This collection was inspired by the anatomy of a grasshopper, abstracting its overall structure to investigate the relationship between form, function and materiality. Each piece of furniture is complex in its own way, but its distinct material palette has the abilit y to complement any t ype of space. The collection exudes a minimal silhouette and aims to curate ultimate luxur y for the cit y dweller. The Hopper Collection echoes the studio’s emphasis on providing the highest qualit y materials to achieve a long-lasting product for generations to come.

HOPPER LOUNGE CHAIR The Hopper lounge chair was the first piece created for this collection. The chair is designed to sit lower to the ground allowing for maximum comfor t . The steel frame offers durabilit y and stabilit y, and is distinctly contrasted with the flax rope that makes up the seat. The composition of the chair allows for versatilit y where colors, fabrics and rope t ypes can be reconfigured to cater to the space it will reside in.

BL ACK EDITION
Hopper Lounge Chair is the forefront of the collection. The black edition of this piece is composed of a black powder coated mild grade steel frame and hand woven with a black f lax linen cord. The chair is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The cord is delicately custom manufactured in Denmark with the highest attention to qualit y and craft. The steel frame is fabricated and painted by an all local professional team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

NATURAL EDITION
The natural edition of the Hopper Lounge Chair is composed of a black powder coated mild grade steel frame and hand woven with a natural flax linen cord. As the sister to the black edition, this piece is composed with two contrastingly colored materials to suit warmer spaces. The chair is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

HOPPER FOOTREST Following the fabrication of the Hopper Lounge Chair, the studio ex tended the Hopper Collection series with the introduction of a new design product ; a footrest. The Hopper Footrest complements the lounge chair with the intention of creating an additional form of comfor t. In the same spirit as the Hopper Lounge chair, the Hopper Footrest combines a steel coated frame with a hand woven flax linen cord. Additionally, it comes in both the black and natural edition.

HOPPER TABLE The Hopper table is the final addition to the Hopper Collection. The table provides an oppor tunit y for a complete form of modern lounging. In the same spirit as the Hopper Lounge chair and footrest , the Hopper Table is made out of a steel coated leg frame and a metal sheet table top. The table’s outline and overall composition echoes that of a grasshopper stance.
