The NG Church Congregation in Franschhoek has existed since 1843 and has its roots in the establishment of the French Huguenots in the valley in 1688. The church building, which stands on a large plot (2.5 hectares) on the main street (Huguenot Road) of Franschhoek , dates from 1847 and was completely restored in 1968.
The church building has a traditional cruciform floor plan with a thatched roof but no church tower.
The church building has an impressive interior and a good organ. The church building has a sound system and a closed circuit.
