EDITOR'S NOTE

I can't believe that I am finally comfortable in showcasing my lifestyle interests in the form of a magazine. This is a labor of love, hard work, sweat, and nerve-racking decisions in formulating each vertical of this lifestyle magazine. This magazine has been a life-long dream and I can't believe that you will get a chance to read the close lifestyle subjects to my heart. The name of this magazine " Alyssum " refers to a flower that symbolizes worth beyond beauty. The meaning instantaneously connected with me on a personal level as I tend to search for substance over outside pleasing beauty. There is more than meets the eye. Beauty is the eye of the beholder. And the first issue will celebrate the #AAPI ( Asian American Pacific Islanders Heritage Month). This was a no-brainer as the cause is very close to my heart and no main-stream magazine has celebrated this cause as the central theme of their issue.

The magazine will mainly focus on health, food, fashion, beauty, travel, entertainment, pets, and activism. Firstly, in the health section, the most common diseases that affect Asians worldwide will be explained. Secondly, the colorful, vibrant, and lip-smacking food from Asian countries that has become world cuisine will be the center of attention in the food section. While in the beauty section will focus on sustainable beauty brands that you need to have in your bathrooms. Whereas in the travel section, the destinations that I have traveled and hope to travel will be highlighted. In the entertainment section, top achievers in acting, music, and comedy will be the focus. Lastly, the activism section will shine a light on the increase in Asian hate, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic and the physical and psychological effects on Asian lives. I hope you enjoying reading and await the next issue.
