This project taught the skills of how to create, arrange and order materials for a physical material board. With a sketch of a two story office space set as the space to design for, materials had to be chosen with consideration to their looks, use, and durability.
Creating the Board
To create the board, a modern concept was chosen for the office space. Materials such as quartz, wood, and metals were chosen for flooring and stair options. On the other hand, fabric materials for seating were chosen based on their feeling, pattern, and wear durability.
During the course of this project the materials had to be ordered online, through a representative, or picked up at a show room in person. This taught the skill of going through material companies. After the arrival of all materials, they had to be arranged on a foam board with though placed into the arrangement to create a visually pleasing and interesting set.
