Please silence your mobile phone and other electronic devices during the program. Also, please do not approach the stage to take photos. Photos will be available on the Alvernia website after the ceremony.

Updated Important Note for Program: Important Note:
Because this online booklet is prepared before the final semester grades are submitted, the list of graduates, honors, and honor societies may not be accurate. In addition, some students may not be listed because they completed degree requirements later than anticipated and missed the booklet preparation deadline. All degrees and declaration of related honors will be confirmed and validated via official transcript, which will include all grades for courses completed through the past semester. In all cases, the actual awarding of a degree by the university is subject to verification by the Registrar. Therefore, these exercises are to be considered ceremonial. If you believe a mistake has been made in this booklet, please contact the Office of Registrar at RegistrarsOffice@alvernia.edu and the Office of Marketing and Communications at Marketing@alvernia.edu.

Affinity Stoles These Alvernia Red stoles, worn by undergraduates and five-year master’s program students, recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of the graduate. The attached pins represent the clubs and services students participated in during their time with the university. The stoles also provide an opportunity for graduates to honor those who have helped them achieve their milestones by writing names on the inside of the stole. During this time of reflection and new beginnings, students can keep the stole or present this to a family member or friend that has supported their scholarly pursuit.
Honorary Degree Recipient Jay Sidhu Never Ever Ever Give Up Author & Speaker Alvernia University Class of 2026 Honorary Degree of Humane Letters
Jay Sidhu came to the United States in the 1970s for higher education. In the mid-1980s, he took a very small, troubled bank in Reading, Pennsylvania, renamed the organization Sovereign Bancorp, Inc. and grew it into a Fortune 500 company.
From Sovereign’s Initial Public Offering — or IPO — of just $12 million he grew the firm to a market cap approaching $12 billion, making it the 17th largest banking institution in the country with more than $90 billion in assets by 2006 when it was sold to Banco Santander. He later served on the Board of Banco Santander in Madrid.
A few years later Jay, with private investors, took control of a small, failing bank in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Jay and the team built that institution into Customers Bank. Today, Customers Bank has assets approaching $25 billion, a market capitalization of over $2.5 billion, and is one of the best performing banks in the United States.
Jay has received various recognitions in the industry including Financial World’s CEO of the Year and Turnaround Entrepreneur of the Year.
In 2023, Jay launched his Wall Street Journal and Amazon best-selling book, Never Ever Ever Give Up – his life story. Jay has been speaking globally on the themes of his book making presentations in 20 countries in the last two years and across the US including the US Military Academy at West Point and, of course, Alvernia University.
Jay is now on a mission to give back, helping thousands of young people to think big, live a life with purpose, and go for their dreams.
Jay earned an MBA from Wilkes University and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s leadership courses for CEOs.

Alvernia University Alma Mater Hail, Alvernia Alma Mater
We proclaim your name. True, staunch, and brave Alvernians Chant a loyal hymn of praise, of praise.
Oh, Alvernia, dear Alvernia
Counselor of our youth, And e’er to us the bright example Of virtue and of truth, of truth.
CHORUS:
Leaving thy shelt’ring fold
Mem’ries of old
With deep maroon and gold Will keep us in thy fold, thy fold. Wherever we may be Through all the years that come and go, We pledge eternal loyalty.
Oh, Alma Mater, hail!
Music: Sister Theresa Mary, RSM
Lyrics: Sister Rose Immaculate, CSB
