GUARANTEE: All bulls are sold with a 6 month guarantee as a calf getter. The guarantee is valid for a period of 6 months from the date of sale. The vendor must receive a written notification together with a certificate from a registered veterinarian stating the nature of the infertility before the expiration of that period. Animals injured or lost as a result of accident, negligence or any disease, are not covered by this guarantee. Vendor liability relating to fertility claims will not exceed the purchase price of the animal and are limited to a credit equal to the purchase price less the salvage value which may be utilized to purchase a suitable replacement from a future Alumy Creek sale. Talk to us if you think you have a problem. RECESSIVE GENETIC CONDITIONS: The DNA test status of all sale bulls for Arthrogryposis Multiplex (AM), Neuropathic Hydrocephalus (NH), Fawn Calf Syndrome (CA) and Developmental Duplications (DD) is shown for each Lot. All the bulls in the sale are free by test (AM/ NHF) or pedigree (AM/NH/DDFU) of the potentially lethal and economically impacting recessive genetic conditions AM, NH and DD. DD is a current issue for many Angus herds- particularly those selecting solely on Long Fed $ Index EBVs. CA status is listed for each Lot but has not shown to be of economic impact. AM, NH or DD (AMC, NHC or DDC) carrier bulls are not recommended for use in any cattle herd where the genetic status of the cow herd is not known or if breeding replacements may be kept. HEALTH AND SAFETY OF VISITORS: Visitors enter the pens of their own risk. Dogs are strictly not permitted at the venue. Children under 16 are requested not to enter the sale pens. All the bulls are known to be of good temperament under normal conditions. However sale day is not ‘normal conditions’. If you enter the pens, take note of your surrounds and be conscious of your safety. Do not crowd the bulls, or loiter in the pens. Please use common sense and be alert at all times. If you feel threatened whatsoever, please do whatever is necessary to ensure the safety of yourself and others in the pen. Do not be alarmed, but it is critical that visitors pay attention to the risks associated with cattle and the day. 2014 Alumy Creek Angus Outcross Bull Sale Welcome to our Annual on property Outcross Bull Sale. We feel this year’s draft of 34 two year old bulls contains some of the best outcross genetic bulls we have bred to date. The bulls are consistent right across the draft displaying plenty of natural muscle, thickness and easy finishing ability. The Sires of the bulls this year continue to be some of the best global genetics available. They offer significant genetic outcrosses for those breeders (like us) who are concerned at the narrowing of the Australian Angus genetic pool. They are all balanced EBV trait leaders within the Angus breed and will suit any Angus market. Many of the bulls in our sale today represent some of the oldest sons available of these sires in Australia. Our aim is to produce short gestation length, easy calving Angus bulls that are long, heavy muscled and easy doing to sire calves that weigh on the scales because that is what our customers are paid on. We select to breed Angus cattle that can produce a profit under commercial conditions. We also expect our bulls to have a good temperament and be easy to work with and our clients always comment on this. Because we retain the sisters to the bulls we sell, the mature cow size of our cattle must be sustainable in our harsh grazing environment. We also apply stiff selection pressure for fertility and our heifers must calve as two year olds unassisted and must continue to go back in calf quickly to produce a calf each and every yearpositive fats will assist to do this. The cows that go in calf early and quickly have the oldest heaviest calf when it comes to weaning and kilos are what the industry still pays for.

We breed for balanced performance, knowing cattle with good EBV figures can also have great structure and temperament. We don’t select for single trait selection or just to add up the highest EBV numbers. Our selection for growth and carcase produces cattle that can achieve extra performance on grass in the paddock and with the potential to access flexible feedlot markets as the season may dictate. The 2014 sale draft includes bulls by TC Aberdeen, SAV Pioneer, new season sires Connealy Final Product and his son MCATL Pure Product, Connealy Impression and the homebred sire Alumy Creek In Focus E04 a Mytty In Focus x Yellowstone from our top performing Alumy Creek Cow family. Outcross genetics sire TC Aberdeen leads the draft with nine sons. We have always said that Aberdeen was a real game changer sire in the breed. Plenty of others also thought so and his progeny certainly became very sought . Aberdeen sons sold to a new Australian Angus Bull record price of $110,000 for KO Godfather in August 2012. With no more Aberdeen semen available, Aust. & NZ studs pushed Aberdeen semen to $500 per straw. His sons have continued to be sought after by both stud and commercial herds for the performance and market flexibility they give their progeny. Aberdeen offers curve bending EBVs with terrific calving ease, low birth wt and maternal traits with top growth and carcase. He is a trait leader for short Gestation Length, Growth, Carcase Wt, Eye Muscle Area and Milk with across the breed performance of top 10% or better for 13 traits. He sired Brisbane Royal Show winning females in 2011 and 2012 for us. He is the sire of Lots 5, 6, 7, 8, 15, 18, 21, 22, and 28.

SAV Pioneer continues to deliver powerful performance and phenotype. Our Pioneer bulls sold well for us last year and have done a great job in the paddock. They are thick, long, moderate framed, easy doing cattle. They are deep bodied, with a smooth even muscle pattern, excellent carcase data plus a great temperament. Pioneer is a trait leader for short gestation length and growth with across the breed performance of top 10% or better in 15 Traits. We used the Lot 1 Pioneer son NKEH17 as a heifer joining sire last season. Australian bred Pioneer bulls sold last year to a top of $35,000. Pioneer is the sire of Lots 1, 10 and 19. Connealy Final Product is a new season sire we selected for his outstanding structure and muscle pattern and deep bodied, easy doing, easy finishing ability. He is very fat positive which is a godsend in seasons like we have just had—cattle finish easier and importantly his daughters will go back in calf sooner so PTIC rates are higher. Many producers are just realizing that consistently selecting for negative fats can have a big economic impact in a breeder herd. Final Product offspring are born easily- we have used him for two years as our heifer bull for no issues- he is a calving ease and super low birth wt sire over several thousand progeny in the US, and his Australian EBVs are not representative yet with less than 200 calves recorded. Lots 2, 3 and 4 are all standout Final Product sons that impress with structure, muscle and thickness. Lot 2 has three generations of proven low birth wt high growth sires. Lot 9 NKEH39 is a well structured heavy muscled bull with standout balanced EBVs that only five bulls in the Aust register can match for birth wt, growth wt, carcase wt and positive fat. Final Product is the sire of Lots 2, 3, 4, 9, 17, 20, 26, 29 and 34. MCATL Pure Product is a Final Product powerhouse son with only 22 progeny in Australia. We used him as a sleep easy heifer bull and found them to be easily born, early calves that matured into easy finishing, heavy muscled correct bulls. Lot 11 NKEH58 is a standout example.
Alumy Creek Angus—24th Annual Angus Bull Sale—catalogue
Great pedigree alternative from beautiful Aberdeen x 878 heifer and Final Product with WAR Alliance outcross bloodlines on top. Pure Product is the sire of Lots 11, 12, 27 and 32. Connealy Impression we liked so much we have used him for three seasons. Impressions are focused on commercial traits—they are born easily, grow quickly and weigh heavy. His heifers are deep bodied standouts. His sons are longer, larger framed, well muscled bulls. In the US, Impression ranks highly for Tenderness, Feed Efficiency and Total Profit. Impression is a trait leader for growth, Carcase Weight and Yield and ranks top 5% performance across the breed for seven traits. He gives real performance genetics with a proven pedigree and calving ease. He is the sire of Lots 13, 14, 16, 23, 24 and 30. Alumy Creek In Focus E04 our homebred sire combines the calving ease and growth of Mytty In Focus with the carcase performance of Yellowstone. He has produced some very attractive well muscled sons for us. His is the sire of Lots 25, 31 and 33. The bulls have been raised under some tough seasonal conditions this year. They have been paddock raised since weaning and they present in good forward condition to will go straight out and work for you. Alumy Creek sired cattle have again performed well in both the saleyard with top weights and prices and in the showring in 2014. We welcome the opportunity to present another draft of quality locally bred paddock raised bulls for sale at 1pm on Saturday 14 June 2014 at Coldawinda, Tenterfield NSW, 10 minutes south of the Qld border on the New England Hwy . The bulls are available for inspection at Coldawinda, Scrub Road, Tenterfield from 10 am on sale day and also on Tuesday 10 June 2014 11am– 2pm or by arrangement with Colin on 0429431900 or the agents.
