Edu Pous: El repte d’aquesta obra va ser integrar a la construcció un annex dels anys 60 en totxana vista sense cap mena d’aïllament, que tampoc tenia en consideració l’entorn. Per tant s’havia d’integrar a l’entorn i al mateix temps convertir-lo en una zona habitable. Edu Pous: The challenge with this project with Oriol was to integrate this annex from the 60s constructed with exposed brick, with no kind of insulation or consideration given to the environment. We needed to integrate it into the environment and turn it into a habitable zone.

La solució de suro SATE amb arrebossat de calç

Oriol Rosselló: Vàrem escollir l’opció de suro exterior, anomenada SATE, amb arrebossat de calç, perquè són materials que mantenen la transpirabilitat, són naturals, poden arribar fins i tot a ser de Km O i, sobretot la calç,

contextualitzen molt bé amb l’arquitectura vernacular d’aquells indrets.

Les qualitats del suro

Edu Pous: No té res a veure amb el poliuretà o altres tipus d’aïllant; quan flaires o toques el suro sents que

formarà part de la pell de casa teva.

The solution was cork sate with lime plaster

Oriol Rosselló: We took the exterior cork option, which is called sate, with lime plaster because these materials maintain breathability, are natural and sourced at km0. The lime contextualizes very well with the vernacular architecture of these fields.

The qualities of cork

Edu Pous: Polyurethane and other types of insulation have nothing to do with cork. You can smell it; touch it and you know that it is going to become part of your home’s skin.
