I am moved by the half light of dawn and dusk, and my paintings are inspired by the Greater Yellowstone country of the American West. A piece of my heart resides there, due in large part to the poetry associated with the convergence of family and friends, moving water and mayfly hatches.

My book Moving Water: An Artist’s Reflections on Fly Fishing, Friendship and Family was published in 2018.

Influences include Utah artist and friend Connie Borup, Mark Rothko, Wolf Kahn, Russell Chatham, the Impressionists, and the American tonal painters George Inness and Albert Ryder.

A graduate of the University of New Hampshire and Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, I live with my family in Last Chance, Idaho and Salt Lake City.

I am proud that my art donations have raised more that $55,000 for national and regional river conservation organizations.
