The Code of Conduct and General Conditions of Play included in this handbook are correct at the time of publishing. These documents can also be located on Auckland Bowls website.
Please refer to Auckland Bowls website for the Special Conditions of Play for each event.
Note - The Code of Conduct and General Conditions of Play have been adopted by Auckland Bowls, which requires each player who wishes to play in any Auckland Centre events, to accept these documents as a means of entry to the event.

Code Of Conduct for Players
Objectives To state plainly the way in which Players who play in Auckland Bowls events are expected to conduct themselves and the consequences of any breach of the expected standards of behaviour.
General This Code of Conduct is to be followed on all occasions and in all places where the player can be seen to be a member of clubs under the jurisdiction of Auckland Bowls and includes the venue of play which means the green, surrounds and clubhouse of the place where the Player is either about to compete, is competing or has competed.
Player’s obligations 1. The competition To maintain at all times a high standard of sportsmanship and fair play. This will of necessity include: a. Always playing to the best of their ability and where appropriate to perform as part of a team. b. Abiding by the Laws of the Game, its Regulations and the Conditions of Play specified by the Controlling Body. c. Respecting and accepting without question any ruling given by the Umpire (subject to any right of appeal given by the Laws). d. Not to take any performance enhancing drug and to comply with any regulations adopted by Auckland Bowls in regard thereto.

e. Present themselves for competition in an acceptable physical and mental condition and standard of appearance. f. Maintain towards opponents an attitude of respect and politeness. g. Not to consume alcohol on the greens during play. h. No cell phones to be switched on when playing. i. Abiding by the dress codes as in the Conditions of Play.
2. Other occasions a. To refrain from: (i) any behaviour which might reflect unfavourably on the Game, Auckland Bowls, or which might bring any other player, official or Auckland Bowls into disrepute. (ii) making any comment to the media and in particular any public announcement or media comment that might bring the Game into disrepute. (iii) any discriminatory practices based on race, religion, ethnic background, gender, age, visual, hearing, or physical impairment.
b. To: (i) abide by and comply with all directions of Auckland Bowls. (ii) accept and act upon any judgement of any duly appointed official of Auckland Bowls as to any unacceptable behaviour. (iii) abide by the requirements of Auckland Bowls as to dress including sponsors’ logos.

c. Respect the tournament officials, volunteers, officers, members and staff of any Club at which the event is being or has been played. d. Respect the Officers and appointed officials of
Auckland Bowls.
Any breach of Code of Conduct 1. If the Convenor, having heard any explanation that the player concerned may proffer, persists in any breach of this Code of
Conduct, the Convenor may withdraw that player from the event. 2. The Convenor must report breaches of this Code of Conduct to the Controlling Body on the prescribed form. 3. Any player who is dissatisfied by any action of the Convenor in relation to this Code of Conduct may require Auckland Bowls to enquire into the conduct in question of the player or
Convenor in regard to it.
