Updates from our AΔKCC Clubs Melissa Nail, Advisor Indiana State University
The Indiana State University Alpha Delta Kappa Collegiate Club has experienced an exciting and rewarding fall semester! In September, we hosted an Open House Call Out Meeting for incoming freshmen and transfer students and garnered eight highly energetic new members! In October members hosted an information meeting and a professional development session where they learned how to create their own personalized Sticky Notes. They also acquired several hundred new children’s books, pencils, and TONS of candy for a Trunk-or-Treat event and distributed treats to over 2,000 children and their families! Also in October, five members attended a weekend professional conference in Indianapolis with Dr. Nail. We wrapped up ADK Founders month with surprise treats from Indiana Chi for our members and also celebrated one of our members, Kaitlyn David, being selected to receive the Indiana Nellie Remington Scholarship. In November we are hosting a service learning event to make sensory books for First Steps Indiana, an organization that supports families with preschool children who have blindness, low vision, and sight impairments. In December we will initiate new members and assist the Indiana Chi chapter with a Snack Time with Santa fund raiser event for a local community center. Great things are happening with ADKCC at ISU!

The International AΔKCC Board was created to assist with the process of establishing AΔKCC clubs and to provide guidance for AΔK sisters seeking to form new collegiate clubs. A key goal this biennium is to seamlessly transition our AΔKCC graduates into local AΔK chapters as we focus on the 3s: Connections, Communication, and Continuity. We endeavor to help our current collegiate clubs to grow, thrive and connect with each other by hosting Zoom conversations with AΔKCC sponsors, advisors and officers. We are supportive of established clubs as we concurrently welcome newly formed collegiate clubs. It is our passion to welcome young educators into the world of AΔK.
