BALL STATE A∆KCC

After a year of separation, Ball State A∆KCC held a faceto-face post-pandemic celebration of their five (actually fiveand-a-half) year anniversary. A∆K leaders, past and present, attended the March meeting virtually and club members welcomed three new initiates.

Since its chartering in 2016, members have participated in local altruistic activities and have presented at A∆K conventions and conferences. They have offered professional and personal development with presentations from educational practitioners and student support agencies. Members attend an annual Christmas dinner and ornament exchange hosted by the sisters of IN Beta Epsilon chapter.

The club, led by President Natalie Wigent, has maintained a membership close to 25 students. VicePresident Kelsey Shields shared, “Alpha Delta Kappa is much more than just sisterhood. We have been given many valuable resources to assist in student teaching, interviewing, and classroom planning processes that will be the next steps on our journey.”

In April, the group concluded its fifth year with a celebration of graduates and officer elections, honoring their December 2020 and May 2021 graduates. BSU A∆KCC continues to cultivate connections as a vibrant organization dedicated to students and teachers in the Muncie area. INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY A∆KCC

Indiana State University Collegiate Club established Face-

book and Instagram sites for social media connectivity. University Dean, Dr. Janet Coleman, challenged club members to promote a day of giving to support students, outreach, scholarship and community engagement at the university. March third was designated “Give to Blue Day.” Faculty Advisor Dr. Melissa Nail reported that members were excited to have raised $1,600 for the causes. Upperclassmen and working teachers shared tips for success during field experiences, internships and student teaching. Another meeting focused on early career opportunities. Club members are working to establish a scholarship for students in financial need. They are excited about what the future holds for ISU A∆KCC. UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA A∆KCC Members of the University of Arizona A∆K Collegiate Club met with AZ Zeta and Beta sisters for a holiday celebration where they created cards for Cardz for Kidz at the home of Zeta member Casey Woods. Cardz for Kidz is a program dedicated to uplifting spirits across the globe by delivering inspiring handmade cards to seniors and disadvantaged children. Cardz for Kidz has partnerships in all fifty states, Washington DC and on every continent. Working together, members created over one hundred cards. Members zoomed an informative program about A∆KCC with Tucson’s Kino Rotary Club. In April, ITE student Karina Ball State A∆KCC Members Attending Celebration Munoz of Mexico, who is attending U of A in Tempe, was their featured speaker. College of Education professors Dr. Donna Jurich and Maria Orozco, members of AZ Zeta, serve as advisors. Everyone looks forward to meeting again in person, but for now, their focus is on inducting new members for the 2021-22 academic year.
