PROMETHEUS 2025 (С)

Artists Against the Kremlin is an ongoing exhibition project showcasing powerful and critical works by dissident artists.
In 2024 and 2025, the project presented over 300 artworks created by more than 180 artists, attracting an audience of over 8,000 visitors.
The exhibition received extensive media coverage, including features in all major Dutch media outlets and several international television channels, with an estimated total reach of 7 million people.
As part of the parallel program, we organized seven special events, including a charity auction in support of Ukrainian children and a benefit event for political prisoners.
We also welcomed 30 artists to Amsterdam and facilitated the sale of over 40 artworks to European collectors and art institutions.

Following the success of the first exhibition, we published a book in early 2025, available in both digital and printed editions. The book was released in English and printed in EU to the highest quality standards, with an initial run of 1,000 copies — nearly all of which have sold out year-to-date.
Format: 225 x 225 mm
Interior paper: Arctic Volume White, 150 g/m²
Binding: Sewn binding (Smyth-sewn) Endpapers: Offset paper with 4+4 printing
Number of pages: 224
Printing: 4+4

Artists Against the Kremlin Vol. 1 features a catalogue of all works from the exhibition, the story behind the project, curatorial essays, and personal insights from the artists through in-depth interviews.

To make the publication possible, we launched several crowdfunding campaigns. Through these efforts, we sold over 400 copies in pre-sale, making our project one of the most successful independent art publishing initiatives on the Indiegogo platform.

Artists Against the Kremlin book is distributed internationally, reaching readers through renowned bookstores, libraries, museum shops, and prominent online platforms around the world.

In 2025, we produced the second major exhibition of the Artists Against the Kremlin project, under the subtopic “VIRUS.”
This edition explored how the Kremlin’s authoritarian mechanisms spread globally, infecting democratic societies and undermining their stability.
For this new chapter, we curated an entirely fresh exposition featuring 157 original artworks by 102 artists.
The exhibition included five special showcases, 11 large-scale installations, multimedia works, and a wide variety of other artistic mediums.
The event attracted over 2,300 visitors and generated even greater media coverage than in 2024, reaching an estimated audience of more than 5 million people worldwide.
We clearly see how the project continues to grow and evolve — and we are determined to build on this momentum with your support.

This year’s edition will feature a complete catalogue of all 157 artworks presented at the exhibition in DeBalie, accompanied by curatorial texts for each piece and untold stories behind the art projects that were not shared during the exhibition.

We also invited renowned art professionals to contribute essays exploring art under totalitarian regimes and examining the current state of independent critical art in Russia. These texts will be published for the first time in Artists Against the Kremlin, Vol. 2.
