Hello! My name is Jennifer and I am the owner, baker, designer, decorator, photographer and the sole creator behind The Ruffled Apron Bakery, LLC. With a Bachelors degree in both business and art, I decided to combine two of my passions together: art and baking! My bakery is homebased and located in Burlington, KY. I am truly grateful for all the home bakers that banded together to petition and change Kentucky’s cottage laws. Without all their effort and perseverance, my bakery would not be possible.

I am very passionate about baking and adding my creative and artistic vision to my baked goods. I am self-taught when it comes to decorating and spend tons of time experimenting and watching tutorials. I love to push my limits and try new techniques. I also love the freedom to let my imagination run wild and create edible works of art.

I love baking from scratch and most of my recipes were handed down to me from my family although some recipes I created on my own. There are so many generations in my family that love to bake. A large spread is the norm when my family gathers together. I was ecstatic to receive my Grandma’s typed and indexed recipe cards that she spent so much time creating. She loved to cook and bake and when I was little she was always making me treats. I miss her but I know she would be so proud of me and my bakery.

My Mom also loved to bake, especially for the holidays. There was always a huge variety of cookies and Kolachi, and it was the family norm to visit with holiday treats in tow. Every year my

Mom and Grandma would spend months making dozens of cookies to share. Now I have the honor of carrying on that legacy and eventually teaching my two daughters to bake.

As a wife and mother, this journey has been an absolute blessing in my life in so many different ways. I get to bake, share my creativity with the world, and be at home to care for my little ones. I am so grateful for all of the support I have received from my friends, family and community. I find so much joy and excitement in creating desserts that will make my customers smile!
