3) Run your Hardware and Peripherals troubleshooter
Below are the steps to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.
Step 1: Press the Windows and R keys together to open the Run dialog box.

Step 2: Enter cmd in the search box and then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter. Press these keys together to launch Command Prompt.
Step 3: After that, you need to copy and paste the command msdt.exe /id DeviceDiagnostic in the Command Prompt window and then press the Enter key.
Step 4: Access the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and select Advanced.
Step 5: Next, select Apply repair automatically and then Next.
Step 6: After that, the troubleshooter will start detecting any problem with the scanner and if you find any issue then you should fix it immediately.
4) Check the status of essential services
Given below are the steps to check the status of required Windows services.
Step 1: Launch Run Console by simultaneously pressing Windows and R keys.
Step 2: Enter services.msc in the search box and then hit the Enter key.
Step 3: Start searching for Windows Imaging Service given on the right side of the Service Manager.
Step 4: Right-click on WIA Service and then select Properties.
Step 5: Access the Properties dialog located under the General tab. After that, select Startup type and then set the field to Automatic.
Step 6: Next, select the service status and check if it is running.
Step 7: After that, select Start to run the service.
