Village Board OKs Sandwich Boards Again COOPERSTOWN
A
fter two months of debate, the village trustees voted unanimously Tuesday, Aug. 8, to once again allow businesses to have “sandwich board” ads in front of their buildings. Signs must be no more than 24 by 42 inches, and must leave at least 60 inches of sidewalk unobstructed, per ADA regulations. On Pioneer Street, where the sidewalks are only 48 inches wide, a business may apply for a variance. “We want to help businesses attract customers, but also keep people safe,” said Mayor Jeff Katz.
