But Martin Tillapaugh, attorney for Albert O’Brien’s estate, said he anticipates vigorous negotiations will bear fruit by year’s end. The delay had to do with CVS trying to determine its costs of clearing the site after an Aug. 9 suspected arson gutted the building.

t’s a giant soon-to-be-electrified Erector Set. It’s the county’s first solar farm being built a couple of miles north of the Village of Laurens by uber-entrepreneur Elon Musk’s SolarCity, which calls itself “America’s #1 full-service solar provider,” for the County of Otsego. The project is expected to produce 1.09 megawatts annually, half of what the county government uses, and save taxpayers $50,000-60,000 a year. Karen Sullivan, county planning director, said this is county government’s biggest undertaking since the construction of Otsego Manor 14 years ago.
