hen Bob Johnson joined the City Council in Petoskey, Mich., in 2006, veteran City Manager George Korthauer took him on a tour of city facilities.
As they drove around the 6,100person city on the shores of Lake Michigan’s Traverse Bay, city employees they encountered smiled and waved at their boss, Johnson recalled in an interview with the local paper, the News-Review, after Korthauer retired from the job in 2009.
