omeowners behind on their taxes will see their properties auctioned off a year earlier under a new policy of the county Treasurer’s Office. County Treasurer Allen Ruffles briefed the county Board of Representatives on his new policy at its November meeting, noting that in a fourth year of deliquency, fees and interest make it much less likely for property owners to catch up on back taxes.
