Ford Avenue Fire Kills Dog, Guts House ONEONTA
A
dog was killed in the house fire that destroyed the home at 89 Ford Avenue. When the Oneonta Fire Department arrived on the scene at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug, 14, the house was fully engulfed. The owner, who was not identified, tried to run back inside to rescue the dog, but fire crews prevented her from entering. According to Capt. Brad Smith, the fire burned through the wires, causing a power outage in the neighborhood. No cause has been identified. Full story, more photos at
