he Big Guy arrives in Cooperstown and takes up residence in his Pioneer Park cottage at 5:30 on Friday, Nov. 23. At 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, the Santa Parade welcomes him into Oneonta, where he’ll take gift requests at his Muller Plaza cottage until 3 p.m. WREATH FESTIVAL: Decorate your door with a customized wreath. he night before her wedding to childhood sweetheart Dan Decker, Jessica Guenther described the feeling “like Christmas Eve without the cookies.” The wedding was Saturday, Nov. 17, in time for the Leonid Meteor
Shower to peak and in keeping with the “Starry Night” theme. “Everyone keeps asking if I’m nervous,” said Dan that morning, as his co-best-man, John Ellis, helped him put on his bow tie. “But I’m just really excited.” At the home of her parents, Ben and Sandy, Jessica gleefully accepted her shipment of bouquets, but did say she’d been up all night with a migraine. Jessica and Dan were the winners of “From Us To You: Your Dream I Do,” a collaboration of 20 wedding vendors on a package worth more than $21,000. “They’re a great couple to work with,” said Celebration Creations Kerri Green, who organized the promotion. “They were so happy with everything, very appreciative.” The couple’s adventures leading up to the Saturday, Nov. 17, has been documented by AllOTSEGO.life reporter Libby Cudmore.
