Italian Conversation goes Coastal!

I clienti con gli occhi aguzzi in un negozio Woolworths nella zona ovest di Sydney noteranno un cambiamento nei loro scaffali.

Il gigante dei supermercati ha iniziato a sperimentare l'uso di piccole telecamere nei corridoi per monitorare i livelli delle scorte nel suo negozio di Wetherill Park.

Il processo vedrà più di 500 telecamere montate sugli scaffali vicino ai cartellini dei prezzi. Fotograferanno lo scaffale di fronte ogni ora in modo che il personale possa vedere quali prodotti devono essere riforniti.

"I clienti del nostro negozio di Wetherill Park potrebbero notare una serie di nuove mini telecamere in ogni corsia e su ogni scaffale", ha detto un portavoce di Woolworths.

"Recentemente abbiamo avviato una prova della nuova tecnologia della fotocamera presso il negozio per assistere i nostri team riducendo i processi manuali e con attività di rifornimento, come la gestione dell'inventario in tempo reale e la definizione delle priorità di rifornimento.

"Questo dovrebbe migliorare la disponibilità dei prodotti durante il giorno per tutti i nostri clienti, non solo a intervalli regolari. "Ascolteremo il feedback dei nostri clienti e membri del team di Wetherill Park nei prossimi mesi prima di valutare i nostri prossimi passi".

Le telecamere saranno posizionate in tutto il negozio, comprese le sezioni del frigorifero, del congelatore e dei prodotti freschi, nonché in ogni corridoio.

I cartelli vengono affissi davanti al negozio di Wetherill Park per informare i clienti del processo, mentre tutti gli acquirenti che vengono inavvertitamente fotografati dalle telecamere verranno stagliati fuori.

The inaugural Central Coast Conversation group was held on Tuesday the 6th June.

The event, which was a raging success, was held at the Railway Hotel in Gosford with a view to potentially explore other venues in the future.

Beginners and Learners all had an opportunity to practice their skills in the presence of some fluent speakers and make new acquaintances along the way.

One of the participants, Ben spoke about how he and his wife were receiving one on one lessons and saw this an opportunity to practice the language “We saw an ad for teaching Ital- ian and we do that once a week and then saw this on Facebook and thought “Great, let’s go”.

Group convener, Monica describes further, “This is a group for beginners of Italian to come together and have a chance to use their new skills.

The plan is to meet monthly on the lower end of the Central Coast. The meeting will be in the evening on a Tuesday night while we enjoy dinner and / or dessert and drinks”.

Monica is one of many people wishing to attend one of the many Italian conversation groups in Sydney but challenged by the distance “I wanted to attend one of the groups in Sydney, but too far for me”.

The Central Coast group now provides an opportunity for those who reside in this particular regional area an additional resource and a recreational opportunity for those traveling to the Italian peninsula or are learning the Romantic language of Italian.

Monica who is also learning ‘la lingua italiana’ articulated the challenges of a busy individual learning a new language, “I am doing Duolingo, private lessons and listening lessons, but I think you need to speak it to learn it!”
