It’s taken me years of self-reflection, hard work, and perseverance to understand that a book is not a “brand” but one of the tools used to create a brand. I’ve been working with many amazing people throughout this journey and discovered three important pillars of my success.
Define who you truly are and what you genuinely stand for. For my journey, this process involved years of healing. Through self-reflection and meditation, I began understanding my unique strengths, values, and passions, which became the solid foundation of my brand’s identity.
If you are an author, entrepreneur, freelancer, or professional looking to establish yourself in your industry, authenticity is key. Being authentic has been my most valuable asset and has helped me kickstart my brand-building journey.
The practice of meditation played a pivotal role. I discovered that the essence of my brand lay in the desire to share this practice with others, extending my reach and my impact on others. So ask yourself: “Who Am I, Really?”
With the help of Bedside Reading, I could identify my target audience. These people want to expand their sense of self, find calm in a crazy-busy life, and understand that one has to look inside. I created and offered videos of my meditations to over forty hotels, which expanded the awareness of my brand. I also created a series of customized mindfulness meditation workshops at Bedside Reading’s luxury hotel partners. This allowed me to connect directly with individuals who align with my idea of wellness and transformation.
I began my market research by writing and publishing two best-selling mindfulness and healing books, which were strategically placed in luxury hotels and sold at events. I have since become the voice behind numerous spa experiences, creating a serene experience for hotel guests.
The spark of meditation has now set fire to a whole new branding experience. “The Abundant Life Book” series is due out in October 2024 with the first book, “Sacred Plate, Abundant Recipes for Life,” along with a luxury travel journal also set for distribution at hotels, cruises, retailers, airports, and bookstores.
In today’s world, it’s not just about what you know but also about your connections and the company you keep. Surround yourself with individuals who provide clarity and honesty. Trust is critical. The importance of the “who you know” aspect cannot be overstated when building a brand. Everybody needs a “Jane” who has vision, clarity, the desire to uplift and support your brand, and incredible business ethics. This valuable lesson has played a significant role in establishing my name as a brand.
By diligently following these steps, you can create a brand that reflects your true essence and deeply resonates with your target audience. By prioritizing clarity, truth, and staying true to yourself, you can craft a brand that stands out and connects meaningfully with others.
