Unbuilt: Case Study Houses Media Seminar Fall 2022

Spatial Justice Seminar Winter 2022

the dwellers come awaiting sunrise, with blankets to sit among the wildflowers and the tall grasses, to see a spectacle of creation. as the darkness fades, the blue hills protrude, the pink skies ignite, there is no trace of manmade things, no view to their cars parked below just a widening view of the endless hills, fading in from the skies becoming greener with each minute. light bounces from hill to hill showing off the abundance of trees swaying with the wind the open field is now the spectacle, the dwellers are the main event, they come to sit, to play, to sing, to laugh, to be, to feel like a blip of a map or king of the world protected from the hands who could ruin its splendor, the hills remain in stillness, gentle on the eyes of the dwellers who sit on the strength of the hills beneath them. the hills have fulfilled what they were always made to be rolling effortlessly away as the sun fades behind them, offering the remainder of their praise the green fades back into the heavens it left that morning, muddling of pinks and yellows and orange and purple give way to the darkest blue marriage of the hill and the sky. the dwellers cascade down the hill with only the reflection of the stars in their jackets to lead them down into the valley hoping to find a purpose as great as the hills enjoy.
