Dear Allen Edmonds Customers and Friends: Thank you very much for your business and support during the challenging times of the year just past. I’m sure many of you would agree that 2009 is not something you would like to repeat. However, adversity builds both character and resiliency. Despite the economic headwinds, the hard-working people of our company have remained on the offense, and the results are evident in this catalog. Throughout 2009, Allen Edmonds re-dedicated itself to serving our customers’ desires for both classic and updated American styling. We expanded our offerings significantly, with traditional dress styles wellcomplemented by business casual and weekend shoes. We re-introduced the Timeless Classics Collection in 2009 and the Fifth Avenue, Strand, McAllister and Manchester immediately became four of our Top Ten bestsellers. We also successfully introduced the Executive Collection: a line of outstanding welted dress shoes with a sleek profile on a stylish all-weather sole. Our rugged casual Berkshire shoe and Cascade boot are major new product hits for us. And our new Crosstown Collection thrills many new customers who are looking for a higher quality shoe on a budget. Now, in 2010, we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of our iconic Park Avenue, the Great American Shoe for Business. This shoe is a staple of business leaders around the globe. TIMELESS CLASSICS COLLECTION During the early part of last year, we sat down and reread our consumer mail. We also read articles, “Tweets,” Facebook postings and fashion blogs (welcome to the digital age!). We noticed our loyal customers had one recurring question…why can’t we bring back some of their favorite styles? Aniline Calf, Gala Silk Calf, Eversnow Calf, Antibes Calf, Rodanil Calf, Calfskin & Soft Calf Use Allen Edmonds Conditioner/ Cleaner to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to dry at room temperature. Then, apply a coat of Allen Edmonds Shoe Cream or Polish with a cloth or horsehair dauber and allow to air dry. Remove excess polish by brushing with a horsehair shine brush and buff to a desired shine. Waxed & Grain Leathers
To remove any residue in areas where the shoe flexes, and to maintain the leather’s quality, simply brush cordovan footwear with a horsehair shine brush or wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Polish occasionally with Allen Edmonds Cordovan Care Cream to maintain a rich color.
Waxed, glove and grain leathers can be cleaned using a damp cloth to remove dirt and any residue. Using a soft cloth, apply Allen Edmonds Leather Lotion, which has been specially formulated for these leathers. Allow shoes to completely air dry. Buff waxed leathers gently with a soft cloth to bring out their shine.
