City of Nacogdoches
Engineering
The 2025 Street Paving Project continued this week with asphalt paving of the milled section on Virginia Avenue (W. Craven Street to 2006 Virginia) and milling and repaving of the western half of Oakview Drive. The eastern half of the intersection of Oakview at Northway Drive has been excavated for installation of concrete beginning next week. After a week's cure time, the western half of the intersection will be excavated for the remainder of the concrete installation. Residents to the east of the intersection will need to access their property from Meadowview while the eastern portion of the intersection is closed. When the western half is excavated, residents west of the intersection will need to use North Street for access to the neighborhood. Door hangers will be placed at residences detailing the routes that need to be taken. Once all concrete work is complete in the intersection, the remainder of Oakview Drive will be repaved.
Reconstruction of W. Gaylon Brooks Street will begin in the next few days. This repair will include Fly Ash stabilization which will then be followed by new asphalt pavement. The unpaved sections of Virginia Avenue are also planned for paving when Gaylon Brooks is paved.
For all paving improvement areas, thru traffic is encouraged to utilize alternate routes to avoid delays. Local traffic will be accommodated.
