Water Utilities

PROTECT OUR WATER RESOURCES

Our stormdrain system channels untreated rainwater into La Nana and Bonita Creeks, eventually reaching the Angelina River and the Sam Rayburn reservoir. Substances entering the stormdrain system other than rainwater pose a risk to wildlife, ecosystems, and water resources. Human activities often worsen stormwater runoff and can contain nitrogen and phosphorus pollutants from fertilizers, and pet and yard waste. Here are some important tips to follow to protect our resources.

Dispose of hazardous waste properly

· Reduce pesticide and fertilizer use

· Prevent lawn irrigation runoff

· Clean up spills immediately

· Pick up pet waste

· Keep storm drains clear of debris

· Maintain vehicles responsibly

Help protect storm drains and preserve the quality of our environment and waterways. Remember, NAC WATER is ours to protect! Only rain down the stormdrain
