Earlier this week at the Nacogdoches City Council Meeting, a special recognition took place to honor Zach Smith. Smith, an Animal Services Attendant at the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter, was presented with a plaque and framed proclamation of bravery and recognition for service above and beyond the call of duty for actions Zach took earlier this month.

City Manager Rick Beverlin first presented Zach with a framed certificate to recognize his brave and selfless action, before Mayor Randy Johnson read aloud a proclamation to the assembled audience detailing Zach’s heroic actions and expressing the City’s appreciation of those acts.
